The Lil’ Inker design team and a couple guests are closing out a short week of blog hopping today. I hope you’ve seen a lot of inspiration this week for our new release, which is already available in the Lil’ Inker Designs shop. Laura wrapped up all of the details on the LID blog, making it the perfect place to start. If you’re following along, Karen Baker’s blog was your last stop. And if you leave a little love for our designers along the way, you’ll be entered to win one if two LID gift certificates at the close of the hop.
Last year I found a bunch of adorable wood-barrel pens that look like brooms at Walgreens. Of course I snagged one (and could kick myself for not getting a dozen to give as gifts) thinking it would be fun on my desk. Then we moved and the pen got packed up. Enter Lil’ Inker’s fantastic new Bats & Broomsticks stamp set, with that cute “if the broom fits” sentiment. It’s like it was meant to be paired with that pen. I had to dig through a few boxes, but I found the broom pen so that I could make this tag to go with it.
The tag itself is pretty simple. For the base, I trimmed away the front flap from one of our Folding Tags, stamped it with the witch and embellished it with a bit of chevron washi tape. The same tape is wrapped around the barrel of the pen too. And of course that sentiment has a home on one of LID’s Stitched Sentiment Flags, cut from kraft card stock to match the rustic broom. It only took a few minutes to make, and would be even easier to do in bulk. They would make perfect little treats for my favorite (and light-hearted) teachers, friends, and co-workers. If you spot them somewhere this year, let me know.
The hop may be almost over, but I love this release so much that I have more projects coming out of the craft room to share later this month. For now, you can keep hopping to Suzanne’s blog for a lovely new project.
