Hoo-ray! Birthday Invitation: Lil’ Inker Designs February Blog Hop, Day 3

Welcome back for the final day of the Lil’ Inker Designs February new release blog hop. The design team has been sharing incredible projects all week and today is no exception. For all of the details, you’ll want to start at the Lil’ Inker Designs shop blog. If you’re following the hop, the talented Maureen was the last stop. And don’t forget, Lil’ Inker will be sharing prizes with three lucky people at the end of the hop, so make sure you’re leaving everyone a little love along the way.

Today I’m sharing a little birthday party invitation made with the Give A Hoot Gift Card Holder Die.

O_the_Owl_300_dpiMy 19-month-old daughter is absolutely smitten with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, a modern, animated spin-off of Mister Roger’s Neighborhood. She loves the adorable characters and music, while I love the messages and teaching opportunities. Her birthday is still a few months out, but I’m considering Daniel Tiger and a theme just to see the giant smile on her face. And when I saw this owl die, I immediately thought of Daniel’s Friend O the Owl.

I didn’t want to get crazy about the details, which is so easy to do when you’re a paper crafter. So I dug through my scrap bin and ancient mat stacks to find the right colors and layered them up. My one extra detail is the blue zig-zag stamped across his wings.

Give a Hoot Gift Card Holder Die

I cut and glued two owls, stacking them for rigidity because these would likely make it into my kids hands. Inside, I used a piece of card stock cut to the dimensions of a gift card and stamped it with invitation itself, from the You’re Invited stamp set. It was surprisingly quick and easy. And proof that gift card holders are more versatile than I first thought!

Before I send you to the next stop on the hop, I want to thank you for stopping by this week and leaving such kind comments. I wish each and every one of you could win the prize drawing! It’s been fun working with these products, so I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I have. Now, it’s off to see Suzanne and her stunning project.

Your owl is sooo cute! How funny you mention Mr. Rogers…I am nearly 50 and my mother said I called him my friend and was intrigued by his daily shoe and sweater changing lol. Thanks for a fun memory…you are very talented…
