I managed to sneak a new Lawn Fawn set into my small crafting budget this summer and it arrived a few days ago. And when I saw the current Lawnscaping Challenge theme, stars and stripes, I just had to put it to use!
There’s a lot going on in this card, but it isn’t a terribly long list: emboss resist stars and sentiment, sponged sunset background, stamped twig and logs, and fussy cut marshmallows and flames. I love making colorful skies with nothing more than Distress ink and sponges. It can feel very therapeutic.
I planned this card with a black and blue stripe on the side, but ended up using gold and white to lighten things up and tie in the gold shimmer on the flames and in the sky. It is so tempting to brush that Wink of Stella pen on everything and call it a day! I love that it can be so subtle.
