Coffee Love

IMG_6168

lawnscaping99I just want to pop in to share a card I made for the Lawnscaping challenge and this month’s One-Layer Simplicity Challenge. Since Lawnscaping challenged us to make a clean and simple card with plenty of white space, I turned to a one-layer card to keep it as simple as possible, and used a little color blending so it wouldn’t look too flat.

After tracing a heart onto a white card base, I filled it with a variety of cups, spoons, and hearts from Lawn Fawn’s Love You a Latte stamp set. I kept the color scheme pretty tight, with a deep red, turquoise, and a few shades of brown. I did have a lot of fun coloring the cups with Copic markers, so there’s plenty of shading, some polka dots and patterns, and even some blending that should look like a ceramic glaze.

Ha – ha. I saw your challenge on One-Layer Simplicity and thought you were doing a play on words, since coffee has so many blends… Love your card.

Dang, how in the HECK did you get the spacing so perfect on all those little images in the heart?!?!?! Sarah, that takes some serious skill, steady hand, and keen eye. BRILLIANT! Thanks so much for sharing this at the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge. LOVE it!!
