Welcome back for another day of the Lil’ Inker Designs January new release blog hop. Our hop starts at the LID blog, where Laura has all of the details on the new stamps and dies, the hop, and our big prize. If you’re following the hop, Lisa Henke’s blog is the stop before mine.
All of the new products I’m using today are available in the shop right now, but you could also win all of them in our super huge blog hop giveaway. Just leave a comment on all of our blog hop posts by December 16th to be eligible. How awesome is that?
Today is all about the kittens. I have a cat-obsessed child who is already begging to use the Kitty Hugger stamp and die set to make her preschool valentines. She wants an entire rainbow of kitties, but we’re still negotiating the treats, so there are no photos to share yet. In the meantime, I wanted to share my favorite way to use the huggers: peeking out from behind a larger die cut. I cut a 4.25″ square card base with our Tribal Chic cover up die, then added a ginger kitty striped with Copic marker. In her hands is a heart, made with the new Filled Heart stamp set and Dual Stitched Heart and Kisses die. There are so many adorable details in the Filled Heart, making it a perfect match the our cute kitten. I just needed a little extra adhesive to wrap her paws around the die cut and I was done.
I did manage to turn one of the Kitty Huggers into a treat holder, but only one, because I couldn’t keep my little one (or myself) out of the holiday chocolates! Again, I added a few stripes with a Copic marker, and stamped the sweet little face and whiskers in black ink. I also stamped one of the messages onto the back, where the kids could see it. Then I glued googly eyes on over the stamped eyes, because my kids always get a kick out of them. One long strip of double stick tape along the arms and chest was more than enough to secure the candy and keep the paws wrapped around the wrapper. These are going to be a hit with the kids, once I talk my daughter into a healthy treat instead of chocolates.
Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back tomorrow with more projects made with Lil’ Inker Designs’ new release. Until then, you should check out Stephanie Gold’s blog. And don’t forget to leave a comment as your visit each blog so you’ll be eligible to win our big prize.
