Today I’m sharing a couple projects as part of the Lil’ Inker Designs Mini Release blog hop. We have a bunch of special guests, so make sure you check out the post on the Lil’ Inker Designs blog for all of the details and the full list of participants. If you’re following the hop, you should’ve arrived here from Jennifer Kinney’s blog. We’re giving away one of everything we’re releasing today, so be sure to leave comments along the hop!

First is a light and simple sympathy card made with Angel Pets and the Stitched Clouds Cover Up die. I stamped the sweet pup from the Angel Pets stamp set, then colored him with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a watercolor brush loaded with Ranger’s Perfect Pearls mist instead of water. Using the coordinating Angel Pets die cuts, I cut a set of wings from lightweight vellum and added a little shimmer to the edges, and used foam tape for extra dimension. I embossed my card base with the new Stitched Clouds Cover Up die, then brushed Perfect Pearls mist over each cloud. To finish the card, I stamped one of the beautifully phrased sentiments in grey ink on pale gray card stock, then mounted it near the bottom of the card.

LID_You Will Never Regret Being Kind StampsNext, I got super inky with ink smooshing and emboss resist to show off the You Will Never Regret Being Kind stamp. These big 4×4-inch stamps will fill most of a card front, with just enough room to show off beautiful techniques. After embossing my sentiment in pearlized embossing powder, I used rich blue, purple, and black Distress inks with water to cover my card front. Then I did it again, using less water and no black ink to get more intense color over the deep shadows from the first smoosh. After a heat set, I flicked it with water and a few shimmering mists, then picked up the drops and reactivated color with a paper towel. I edged my card base with gold striped washi tape and trimmed a sliver off the card front for an extra gold accent.

I hope you’re enjoying all of the inspiration on today’s hop. I’ll be back soon with my next project. Until then, the next stop on the hop is Cheryl Knutti’s blog. Happy stamping!
