The Lil’ Inker Designs 3rd Birthday Challenge wraps us tomorrow, but I have one more card to share that was inspired by the challenge graphic.
This one came together in a snap and would’ve been even easier with colored vellum, but since I don’t have any, I colored my die cut vellum balloons with Copic markers. There are some streaks, but I love the way the sheer colors play together too much to fret about it. And isn’t that die cut cat the sweetest? It’s Memory Box and looks adorable holding a balloon bouquet. The strings and sentiment are from LID’s Balloon Builders clear stamp set.
The herringbone pattern at the bottom is actually a piece of Scotch’s new Expressions washi tape. I found it in the office supply section at Target, and it’s one of the only non-kid-related craft purchases I’ve made this summer. While it’s not as nice as real washi tape from Japan, it’s better than some of the tapes I’ve tried from paper crafting companies *cough* Martha Stewart Crafts *cough*. The surface has a light sheen that I don’t care for, but the adhesive seems good so far.
I hope you find a little time today to play along with the LID challenge — it’s a good one with lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs.
