Now that summer is almost over, how about some fun new fall products from Lil’ Inker Designs? The design team and a couple guests are hopping today to share inspiration for our latest release, which is already available in the Lil’ Inker Designs shop. Laura kicked things off on the LID blog, and if you’re following along, you just saw some gorgeous designs from Karen Baker. There’s so much cute stuff to see, but I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that we’re giving away LID gift certificates to a couple lucky commenters during the hop. Now, back to the creative part!
I have a simple Halloween card to share today featuring our new Bats & Broomsticks dies and stamps along with a few LID favorites. There are not fancy techniques or complicated instructions here, just a few layered die cuts and a lot of texture. The moon is made from a fantastic plastic-coated glitter paper (no strip club glitter trail!) and the clouds around it are silver shimmer cardstock. And those sweet bats are made from velvet paper that I’ve been hoarding.
Tips & Tricks
There are two different size bats on the card, but only one bat in the new die set. I gave my second bat a little trim to stretch my supplies and get a little more variety. You do lose that nice rounded die cut edge, but if you’re using a heavily textured material, the difference isn’t very noticeable.
I hope you’re getting a lot of fun project ideas from our hop, but there’s even more over on Suzanne’s blog, so don’t stop here. See you tomorrow with more Lil’ Inker goodies!
