This week’s Tuesday Trigger, Enthralled with Fall, is just too gorgeous to ignore. The leaves are just beginning to change here in Northern California and images like this really make me miss fall in New England. It touched off a flurry of sketching and creating. But even better, it gave me the push to photograph and share the cards I’ve been working on since last week’s Lil’ Inker blog hop.
To make this card, I started by stamping white card stock with solid leaf stamps using Distress inks and water. I used a few pinks, reds, oranges, and even brown. After it was dry, I stamped the veining with the same inks and die cut it with the large Lil’ Inker flag and a coordinating leaf die. I backed the cut out with a bit of patterned paper stamped with a small sentiment, then popped the whole thing up on a woodgrain notecard.
I just love using Distress inks with water, especially when they layer so beautifully.
