You could call me a slacker for not updating in four days, and maybe I am, but there are just too many things to talk about to devote enough time to each. I'm just overflowing with ideas and news this week.
- I like this whole Mondays off thing. If you're not taking an actual vacation it works out so much better. I always overestimate how much I'll be able to get done during any given weekend, so having Monday off gives me a whole day to finish up and relax.
- Jon and Steve (and their father) are on a Red Sox vacation this week, catching the team in St. Louis and Chicago. I am kitten-sitting Silly. While she and Tia seem to be on good terms, it still took her a day to warm up to the apartment.
- I set two bowls of food down this evening before heading to the bathroom. Tia followed me in but had to keep checking that Silly wasn't eating her food. It's unusual to see her so paranoid.
- I want to kiss the person who invented breeze mode for fans.
- On a whim I bought a package of Fruit of the Loom underwear at Walmart. I wore a pair today and have decided that vanity sizing is a very bad thing. I bought a size 10, which according to the sizing chart on the back of the package corresponds to the 47-48.5" hips I hide under my clothes. These underwear were easily that big before I put them on. Big, baggy granny pants that rode up and bunched around my butt all day. So not what the photo and the size chart predicted. I understand that this might make some women feel good, but I expect honesting in sizing for something I can't try on. Duh.
- I had to wait all weekend, but I finally picked up my final package from my secret pal this morning. Or should, I say not so secret pal... because Jane really outdid herself with the reveal. Those photos show the great books, tote bag, accessory bag (complete with knitting accessories and stickers), notepad, and manos del uraguay yarn. Did I mention the yarn? Yum. I've been eyeing that colorway since the holidays. I think baby needs a new pair of fingerless mittens for work. Thanks Jane!
- I've been working on some crafty things for my own secret pal, so I'm running late. I hate that. The last thing I want is for her to think she isn't being thought of.
- Kevin Millar is on Queer Eye tonight. Squee!
- Cocoa butter is divine. It's so satiny and soft. Not to mention it smells like chocolate. I want to make more things with it.
