Leading Questions
An e-mail that I received today just reminded me how much I dislike leading questions. I suppose they have a purpose, but mostly they get in the way. You just can't find out what someone really wants if you ask them to pick and answer that you're looking for. Why bother asking the question at all if you already know what you want the answer to be? It may be perfect for lawyers and parents, but it's lousy when you need to be objective.
