Confessions of a Fugitive Mind
December 16, 2005
Five on Friday for December 16, 2005
- 1. How many books do you read per month? How many are for work/school?
- Lately I have been reading about two or three books a month and listening to another two in the car. And they're almost all for my own pleasure, although a few books about Web standards and design tend to work their way into the pile.
- 2. What is your favorite genre of book (fiction, self-help, etc...)?
- Definately fiction. Mostly I read the "literature" sort but often delve into horror, suspense, and historical.
- 3. Do you subscribe to any magazines? Which? Are there any you'd like to subscribe to but haven't?
- My only subscription is to Real Simple, but I wouldn't mind having subscriptions to Interweave Knits, Martha Stewart Living, or American Bungalow.
- 4. Where do you get your reading materials? Online? Bookstore? Library?
- I get most of my books from Half.com and Goodwill, although I often end up buying my book club books at a bookstore.
- 5. List 5 books you recommend people read:
- My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult
- Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenides
- Wicked by Gregory Maguire
- Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner
- The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

Funny you should mention it because I started reading True North just this week. So far, so good.

Then hurry up and finish it! I miss it! I was at the book store last night and wanted to buy it all over again. And he has a new one out....took all my will power not to buy it. I want to have the time to fully enjoy it, not feel rushed over christmas break. I also really enjoyed "Dalva" and it's companion book "Road to Home." J. Harrison is just an awesome story teller (and some of the characters he created in "legends of the fall" show up the other stories).
