Confessions of a Fugitive Mind

Snafu

Imagine my surprise when my quarterly loan bill from WPI arrived today asking for twice as much money. Then imagine my surprise when I realized that the actual bill was for someone else. Everything inside was for a guy who owes a lot more money than me with a last name probably next in the list after mine. Address. Social Security number. Loan balance. Recent payment history. The only thing related to me was the address on the outside.

A few quick phone calls to fellow alums assured me that I probably wasn't alone. Someone else probably has my bill and my personal information. One thing is certain: WPI is sure to have some 'splaining to do.

hey sarah! i never received my latest bill from wpi and was a little worried, because I always get my bill very promptly from them. I was a tad puzzled that I did not receive anyone else's bill either... so today I got a letter from wpi apologizing for their printing error, and as if it was supposed to make me feel better, they wrote that only ONE person if any received my bill... well that is just great, because you know ONE person cannot just steal my identity :) I have to say I am a little perturbed by this situation, and hopefully they have rectified it and my bills will only come to me (though it would be so great if whoever received my bill actually paid it for me!)

Congrats on your anniversary!

-Lauren :)
