Off-Target
I'm in an autumnal sort of mood this week, with the cool mornings and sunny afternoons we're experiencing in the Northeast making me crave sweaters, apple pie, and other fall traditions. Today, I had a hankering for Autumn Mix, so I took a lunch run to the local Target. I found single-flavor bags of caramel candy corn, chocolate candy corn, and mellowcreme pumpkins. Heck, there was even a large display of Christmas cards, but no traditional candy corn. And absolutely nothing resembling Autumn Mix. I settled for mini peanut butter cups, but they just don't fix my craving.

Long Time Gone
Hello there. Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not dead.
Or incarcerated. Or hospitalized.
I've just been caught up in life. So it's not like I've had a shortage of things to write about. It's just that I haven't felt compelled to share them. I'm not sure I've ever gone more than a month without posting in the seven years I've been keeping an online journal. But here I am, 31 days out from my most recent post, admitting that I've given almost no thought to my web site and journal. I've been using Twitter for quick updates, but haven't taken the time to commit any of my thoughts to this space right here.
And I'm thinking I should, because there's plenty bouncing around in my head that I'll just forget if I don't capture it somewhere. This is as good a place as any.
