Today I’m sharing a card for the Stamping for Autism Awareness Blog Hop hosted by Veronica Zalis and Tenia Nelson. A couple years ago, I shared a little about why Autism Awareness is important to me. This year I want to encourage you to turn your awareness into acceptance. It’s important to make our schools, workplaces, and communities safer and more inclusive for people with Autism. It can be as simple as including autistic students in your child’s birthday plans. Or considering the needs of an autistic coworker in your communications. You can also seek out media about autism that include autistic voices. Because when we know better, we can do better.

Over the years, I’ve known some really cool people on the Autism spectrum. While they may not have been cool in the conventional sense, they had enthusiasm and intensity that could light up a room when they let it loose. I made this card with those friends in mind: a simple box hiding a rich inner world. I nestled the a sparkly bear from Lil’ Inker Designs’ Kite Flying stamp set into a Neat and Tangled box die made from constellation patterned paper. The box was stamped with a sentiment from Bunny Buddies.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to learn more about Autism and Autism acceptance.
